After graduating from the University of Utah, Michael Affleck completed a four year dental program at the University of Iowa where he completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He opened his practice in Ogden in 2001, then later moved his practice to Clearfield in 2016.
Dr. Affleck spends about half of his time practicing general dentistry.

After dental school Dr. Affleck wanted to become a specialist in replacing severely damaged and missing teeth. So he continued his dental education by devoting an additional three years to become a prosthodontist.
A prosthodontist is the ADA's recognized specialist for replacing missing teeth with false teeth like bridges, dentures and dental implants. A prosthodontist is also the recognized specialist in partial prosthetics like crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, overlays and pinlays.
Dr. Affleck spends about half of his time practicing as a prosthodontic specialist.
